Born in 2021 out of summer production of A Midsummer Nights Dream, The Rude Sea combines four multi-instrumentalists’ artistic sensibilities around a shared passion for story, narrative, and play.
Come Away (2022) features ten original songs written from the perspective of characters from some of Shakespeare’s most beautiful plays. Woven against an acoustic backdrop of strings and keys, The Rude Sea’s debut album gives new voices to lovers, heroes, tyrants, and drunkards whose struggles and joys feel remarkably close to our own.
