As of this week, Richard III is officially wrapped up on Shakespeare Hill. With an extremely well attended twenty-two show run, this production affirmed how ostensibly dense histories can become highly accessible theatre for general audiences. It was a great pleasure to see such masses of patrons enjoying free Shakespeare, six nights a week, in a town thats cultural identity often goes unacknowledged.
